Day of Rest...

The sun is shining, the breezes blows, the school yard is silent. It is most restful and relaxing on this Lord's Day. I am home by myself this afternoon, which excites me because I can call people (ps if you have skype...add me! I would love to talk) So this morning I went to another church to "check it out" (yes, some of you would call this church shopping.) Well, it was mostly full of children that the church is reaching out to. And after singing together, the church splits into separate classes. Unfortunately the minister (and teacher) of our classes was away, so we sat in with the youth group. The message was on 2 Cor. 12 where it talks about God's strength being shown in our weakness. How appropriate and how encouraging! Of course, I understood very little, and sat praying most of the time for the gift of tongues. (Side note: I believe God could give the gift to me if He wanted to: but my struggle comes with knowing whether His best purposes would be served in giving that gift to me. I mean, what would I do with it besides understand Spanish? I think this means that I also would have to pray for discernment in how this gift would be used for His will.)
So because spiritual food is not being given me in a language I can understand, I have to make much more of an effot to spend time with God and learn and be fed. I have such thankfulness for the internet for that reason, and I hope to go and listen to a sermon on prayer in a short while. Please pray that I would continue to be diligent in spending time with God!
May He bless you on this Lord's Day and this week!
