In honour of American Thanksgiving

*** notice that "honour" is spelt the Canadian way ;)

I would like to share some things I am thankful for - and some thoughts on thanksgiving/gratitude.

Paul was right when he wrote that we need to bring every petition to God with thanksgiving. It really gives us the bigger picture - plus it takes our focus off ourselves and puts it on who God is.

I need to be more thankful
I am thankful for:
- my health, which at times is a struggle, I still have a body that is fully functioning and works and is strong enough for me to live in another country
- I am thankful for my house here in Honduras - which is comfortable - and at the end of the day I feel that I am coming home. It also is a place for my friends to be...
- I am thankful for my students - who at times may make me want to cry but who also make me laugh. In fact I usually laugh more often.
- I am thankful for my safety - especially in this country
- I am thankful for the sun...which I have not seen in a few days...and would like to see again soon
- I am thankful for the internet - which allows me to keep in contact with you all...and not even pay a lot to do it.

I need to say "thank you" to more people more often
- thank you to my family - who is such a constant support for me and I can't wait to have a hug
- thank you to my friends - you know who you are - you are special to me and walk with me through my joys and struggles
- thank you to my Honduran housemate-sister. You are very dear to me and thanks for your patience with me!
- thank you to my financial and spiritual supporters who believe enough that God called me to Honduras to help me live here
- thank you to my Spanish teacher - who is helping me to become a better communicator here

And all of this is possible because of WHO GOD IS. THANK YOU JESUS!
