Yesterday the Grade 11s organized a multi-school court-soccer competition. And in honour of the day - high school was given the day off to come and CHEER the 10 boys who were playing (out of a total of 80 students.) I love this country - only here would they give a day off to people while they come and cheer. In Canada - I think - this kind of stuff would happen on a Saturday.
(Yep- that's me on the bench with the team. Many students don't even call me Ms. Amanda - they just call m
e "Coach.")

(the cheering section - they did a good job!)
The afternoon was filled with a meeting about the Police Force in this country - with a focus on kidnapping and what we can do, who we can call (who is not corrupt), and other things.
I definately had at least two "where am I living?" moments when I realized just how serious a threat this kidnapping and safety issue is to people with money.
