Oh Central Heat I miss You...

Yeah - so remember that I moved here because the heat appealed to me? Well, it is rainy and cold cold cold. Yes it is in the 'chilly teens' - and it feels even colder because IT DOES NOT STOP RAINING. Imagine it permanently being wet and cold at the same time. ARGh. You think that I wasn't Canadian and used to -30C weather. Nope. I think it is the rain that is putting me over the edge. Students and teachers alike appear at school in hats, scarves, and mitts (okay the mitts are a little over the edge I think.) And given that it is only this cold for about two months at tops there is no central heat in the houses....except maybe a fireplace if you have one. Ergo... layer, layer, layer. I also definately notice it in the students behaviour, which is worse than normal. I feel that maybe they are more active to keep themselves warm. I feel that I am more irritable now that I am cold. I am praying that we get a glimmer of the sun, which I have not seen for a week. (I cannot imagine living in England.) I may also have spouted another body part in the form of a thermal mug which is constantly filled with hot liquid of some sort. Thank the Lord for tea.
